Distribution of hygienic & state-of-the-art equipment to educational institutions in N’ganj

To promote climate tolerance, health awareness and digital education in educational institutions, modern materials have been distributed among various educational institutions under the initiative of ‘Climate Tolerant Campus Initiative’ by the Narayanganj Sadar Upazila Administration.
The distribution program was completed at the office of the Narayanganj Sadar Upazila Executive Officer on Saturday (May 23).
The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Narayanganj district and learned District Magistrate Md. Raihan Kabir were present as the chief guest at the event.
The function was presided over by Sadar Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) SM Fayez Uddin and was also attended by Assistant Commissioner (Land), Fatullah Revenue Circle, officials of various government departments and teachers and students of concerned educational institutions.
Under this initiative, sanitary pad vending machines, color-coded garbage bins, sustainable water bottles, Swiss water filters and interactive digital white boards were distributed to various educational institutions in the upazila.
Speaking as the chief guest, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md. Raihan Kabir said, “It is our responsibility to ensure a safe, healthy and environment-friendly campus for students. The sanitary pad vending machine will help in the health protection and menstrual management of female students. The habit of waste segregation will be developed through color-coated dustbins.”
He also said, “Sustainable water bottles and Swiss water filters will reduce the use of single-use plastic. Interactive digital white boards will play a role in creating paperless smart classrooms. Awareness must start from the classroom to address the challenges of climate change.”
In the president’s speech, UNO SM Fayez Uddin said, “We have taken a comprehensive plan to build a climate-tolerant campus. In the first phase, these materials were provided to 17 secondary schools and madrasas in Sadar Upazila. All institutions will be brought under this program in phases. If the students themselves become aware, their families and society will also become aware.”
Teachers present at the program said that the installation of sanitary pad vending machines will increase the attendance rate of female students. Digital whiteboards will make teaching more attractive. Safe drinking water will be ensured through Swiss water filters.
Upazila administration said, that under this program, teachers will be trained on climate change, waste management and health awareness.
At the end of the program, the guests present handed over the materials to students of various educational institutions.
