Social Welfare Secretary visits puja mandap in N’ganj

Secretary of the Ministry of Social Welfare Dr. Mohammad Abu Yusuf has visited the mandap with the aim of celebrating the autumn Durga Puja in Narayanganj smoothly and peacefully. On Wednesday (October 1) afternoon, he visited the Ramakrishna Mission Ashram and the Amlapara Sarbajanin Puja Mandap in Narayanganj city.
After visiting the puja mandap, he said that Bangladesh is a unique example of communal harmony. Hindus and Muslims have been celebrating their religious festivals together here for hundreds of years.
He also said that the government has assigned 165,000 officials on the occasion of Durga Puja. They are working together with the district and police administration. In addition, leaders and activists of various political parties and volunteers are cooperating on behalf of the mandap.
Also present at the event were Narayanganj Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Zahidul Islam Miah, Additional Deputy Commissioner Alamgir Hossain, Deputy Director of the Department of Social Services Asaduzzaman Sarkar, Metropolitan BNP Convener Adv. Sakhawat Hossain Khan, Member Secretary Adv. Abu Al Yusuf Khan Tipu, Principal of Ramakrishna Mission Ashram Swami Eknathanandaji Maharaj, President of the District Puja Udjavan Parishad Shankar Kumar Dey, General Secretary Shipon Sarkar Shikhan, President of Amlapara Puja M-P Prabir Kumar Saha, General Secretary of Deobhog Sadhu Nag Mahasoy Temple Tarapad Acharya, among others.
