Dhaka Divisional Commissioner Sharaf Uddin Ahmed Chowdhury visited the mandap with the aim of celebrating the autumn Durga Puja in Narayanganj smoothly and peacefully. He visited the Ramkrishna Mission Ashram and Amlapara Sarbajanin Puja Mandap in Narayanganj city at 7:30 pm on Wednesday (October 1).
He was accompanied by Narayanganj Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Zahidul Islam Miah and Civil Surgeon Dr. AFM Mushiur Rahman, Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Operations) Tarek Al Mehedi and Ansar Commandant Kaniz Farzana Shanta during the inspection.

After the inspection, he said that Narayanganj has organized it according to tradition. Durgotsav is being held in 224 puja mandap. We are satisfied with the atmosphere of the puja that we have seen so far and the puja is being celebrated peacefully across the country without any hindrance. It will conclude tomorrow with immersion.

He also said that so far we have not heard of any untoward incident and the devotees are celebrating the festival peacefully. We expect the rest of the festival to end in a festive atmosphere.
The Divisional Commissioner said that Narayanganj has a tradition that everyone celebrates festivals of all religions together. This is happening this time too and we expect it to continue in the future.

Regarding security, he said that there is strict security arrangement at every mandap. We hope that no untoward incident will happen. The people in charge of the puja mandap have assured us that they will complete the event within the time specified by the government.
After visiting the Amlapara Public Puja Mandap, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Zahidul Islam said, “There is a mosque next to it, and the patience you have shown despite having so many devotees, is why there has been no problem in Durga Puja for 143 years. You have created a unique example.” Also present at the event were Additional District Magistrate Nilufa Yasmin, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md. Alamgir Hussain, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development and Human Resource Management) Naima Islam, Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Taslima Shirin, Metropolitan BNP Convener Advocate Sakhawat Hossain Khan, Member Secretary Advocate Abu Al Yusuf Khan Tipu, District Puja Celebration Council President Shankar Kumar Dey, General Secretary Shikhan Sarkar Shipon, and others.
