Masuduzzaman Masud, a BNP candidate for Narayanganj-5 constituency, said, “We don’t want to be dirty and break party discipline. But some are breaking party discipline. You should investigate on the ground and bring all those people under punishment. If I also break party discipline, I will also be punished. I request all the leaders of nationalist parties not to get involved in verbal arguments. You will respond with time and your actions.”
He said these things at a greeting exchange meeting with Hindus at Premtala in Muchapur, Bandar Upazila on Saturday (September 27) afternoon. During this time, he also donated money to local places of worship.
Stating that ‘Narayanganj port has always been a place of harmony’, Masuduzzaman further said, “For hundreds of years, Hindus, Muslims, Buddhists, Christians have all been living together in harmony. Durga Puja is not just a festival of Hindus, it is a symbol of our social harmony.”
He further said, “We are not in the party that plays dirty politics with people. The nationalist party believes that people are above all, there is no one above them. Everyone has used the followers of traditional religions of Bangladesh in electoral politics. We do not want to be used anymore. We want Bangladesh to be mine, whoever has their religion.”
“One party has left, another party is sitting in the garb of religion, misleading people. Shaheed Ziaur Rahman gave this party the right to do politics. Harmony is in our blood. I have been by your side since childhood and will always be by your side in times of trouble.”
He said, “All the organizations of the nationalist party will celebrate the puja in a festive atmosphere by standing next to the traditional brothers and sisters and be careful that no one falls victim to the conspiracy. They will stand next to the traditional brothers and sisters and protect them.”
Masuduzzaman said, “We will always stand by the brothers and sisters of Muchapur Union. I want a place in your hearts. I will stand by you with whatever I can. My pride is big for me, your pride is big for you. We are one nation, that is Bangladeshi. So that no one can do politics with us.”
“A party considers you its own ancestral property. If the party finds me worthy, I will vote, and if not, I will stand by another. There is no chance of division, division will not be right. A party is conspiring with the PR method. For that, we have to remain united. There is no alternative to unity,” he added.
He further said, “Some people have taken politics as a profession. I will not take politics as a profession. Politics will be about ideals, being by the side of the people, working for the people. We want to forget everything and be by your side.”
“I want to work with all of you. I thank all of you. Inshallah, if you give me a place in your hearts, I will make BNP’s base here. Inshallah, BNP will have a base in Mushapur.”
The program was addressed by Bangladesh Nationalist Central Youth Party Vice President Golam Mustafa Sagar, Narayanganj Metropolitan BNP Joint Convener Anwar Hossain Anu, Advocate Billal Hossain, Bangladesh Puja Celebration Front President Abhay Kumar Roy and Bangladesh Puja Front Member Secretary Kartik Ghosh, Gopinath Ziur Akhra Management Committee President Bhabani Shankar Roy.
