DC praised across the district for organizing a festive, peaceful & orderly Durga Puja.

The biggest religious festival of the Hindu community, the Sharadiya Durga Puja, was held in Narayanganj in a joyful, peaceful and orderly atmosphere. The District Commissioner (DC) has been praised by everyone for organizing the festival smoothly and ensuring overall security from the beginning. The law enforcement agencies have provided him with all possible support.
The most grand Durga Puja after the capital Dhaka has been organized in Narayanganj this time. Being an industrial area, the population of this densely populated district is very high. Therefore, special security measures were taken to ensure the smooth celebration of the Sharadiya Durga Puja. This year was no exception.
This year, Durga Puja was held in 224 puja mandap in the district.
The Deputy Commissioner has made it a reality by assuring full cooperation from the beginning.
So that Hindu devotees can enjoy the puja peacefully without any untoward incident, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) has taken a smart effort to ensure that the Narayanganj district administration has taken four-tiered security measures.
In addition to the puja mandap, about 850 police personnel were deployed at various important points in the district. In addition, various organizations including the Army, RAB, BGB, Coast Guard Ansar Bahini members were on alert.
At the same time, in order to supervise the overall affairs throughout the puja, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mohammad Zahidul Islam Miah and the District Superintendent of Police (SP) Jasim Uddin visited the puja mandap of various upazilas in the city and other upazilas before and after the puja.
In addition, the upazila administration also regularly visits the puja mandap. Army and RAB police members patrolled various important areas of the district. This can be seen until the immersion of Pratima on the day of Vijaya Dashami.
A preparatory meeting was held on September 10 at the initiative of Narayanganj Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mohammad Jahidul Islam Miah to ensure overall preparation for the puja.
Representatives of the district administration, law enforcement agencies, city corporation, upazila administration, social and political organizations, RAB, Coast Guard, Ansar, and committees of the puja mandap were present in the meeting.
Before the puja began, on September 26, at noon, the city’s Tanbazar Sahapara Sarvajanin Puja Mandap was visited by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mohammad Jahidul Islam Miah, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md. Alamgir Hossain, Senior Assistant Commissioner Md. Monabbor Hossain, District Puja Celebration Council President Shankar Kumar and many others.
Then, on September 27, at noon, Bangladesh Border Guard Narayanganj Battalion’s Missionpara Ramakrishna Mission Ashram and Amlapara Sarbajanin Puja Mandap were visited by Bangladesh Border Guard Narayanganj Battalion Assistant Director (AD) Md. Ziaur Rahman.
On September 28, the Durgotsav festival began with Shashti Puja. On this day, the Deputy Commissioner visited several Puja Mandap in Rupganj Upazila.
On Maha Saptami (September 29), the Deputy Commissioner visited the Puja Mandap of Bandar Upazila. At the same time, he visited the Rajaghat Beni Madhav Brahmachari Samadhi Temple. During this time, he gave financial donations to the Mandap for the occasion of Puja. District Ansar Commandant Kaniz Farzana Shanta, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development and Human Resource Management) Naima Islam, Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate (Nezarat Branch) Md. Tariqul Islam, Bandar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Mostafizur Rahman and others were present at the time.
On the same day, in the afternoon, Bangladesh Coast Guard Composite Station Padma (Dhaka Zone) Station Commander Md. Rafael Monwar visited the festival of Sri Sri Shyama Kali Temple adjacent to the DIT field in Fatullah.
On Mahashtami (September 30), Deputy Commissioner (DC) and Superintendent of Police (SP) Jasim Uddin visited the puja mandap in Sonargaon Upazila.
On Mahanavami (October 1), Dhaka Divisional Commissioner Sharaf Uddin Ahmed Chowdhury visited the mandap in the city. Also present at the time were Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mohammad Zahidul Islam Miah and Civil Surgeon Dr. Mushiur Rahman, Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Operations) Tarek Al Mehedi and Ansar Commandant Kaniz Farzana Shanto.
In the afternoon, Bangladesh Coast Guard Director General Rear Admiral Md. Ziaul Haque visited the Ramakrishna Mission Ashram in the city.
On the same evening, RAB-11 Director General Additional IGP AKM Shahidur Rahman visited the Ramakrishna Mission Ashram in the city. The RAB DG said, “We have taken strict legal measures in every case and have been able to arrest more than 19 saboteurs so far.”
Also present at the time were RAB-11 commander Lieutenant Colonel SM Sajjad Hossain, District Police Superintendent Mohammad Jasim Uddin, Metropolitan BNP convener Advocate Sakhawat Hossain Khan and others.
On the day of Dashami (October 2), the administration was keeping a strict vigil on the overall arrangements and preparations for the immersion of the idol. Law enforcement agencies were vigilant to ensure that no untoward incident occurred during the public gathering like the immersion.
To this end, senior officials of the district administration visited Fish Ghat No. 3 in the city in the afternoon. Additional law enforcement officers were deployed in various areas throughout the district.
In the afternoon, Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Nilufar Yasmin visited the ghat to see the preparations at the idol immersion ghat adjacent to Fatullah Launch Ghat. At 5 pm, the Deputy Commissioner himself visited the immersion site.
On the other hand, at 12:30 am, District Police Superintendent Jasim Uddin 3 fishing pier. At the same time, members of the Army, RAB, BGB, and Coast Guard were seen performing their duties.
By ensuring overall preparation, regular inspections, and a four-tier security system, the Narayanganj district administration and law enforcement agencies successfully completed the Durga Puja celebration without any disruption. Due to this vigilance and vigilance of the administration, it has been possible to prevent any untoward incident related to the festival.
The close supervision, compassion, and responsible attitude of the District Administrator, Police, and allied agencies at all levels have been appreciated by the local people and the puja mandap committees. Such a coordinated initiative has set a unique example of social peace and coexistence in Narayanganj, which will be helpful in maintaining peace and security in future religious festivals as well, say the district residents.
