Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will hold a press conference this afternoon to brief the media about the successful outcome of her recently concluded visit to Japan, the United States and the United Kingdom.

Prime Minister's Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim said, "This press conference will start at 4 pm on Monday at the Prime Minister's official residence Ganabhaban."

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina left Dhaka for Tokyo on April 25 as part of the first leg of her successful tri-nation tour. He visited Japan at the invitation of Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.

During her stay in Tokyo, Sheikh Hasina witnessed the exchange of eight agreements signed between Dhaka and Tokyo to enhance cooperation in agriculture, metro-rail, industrial development, ship-recycling, customs affairs, intellectual property, defence, ICT and cyber security, etc., most of which are memorandums of understanding.

Sheikh Hasina held a courtesy call on Emperor Naruhito of Japan and a bilateral meeting with his Japanese counterpart Fumio Kishida.

The Prime Minister also attended an investment summit and a community reception on April 27, besides handing over 'Friends of Liberation War Honour' to four Japanese nationals for their contribution to the great liberation war of Bangladesh in 1971.

He also attended several bilateral meetings with Japanese Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi as well as leaders of JICA, JETRO, JEBIC, JBPFL and JBCCCEC.

In the second leg of the visit, the Prime Minister attended a program to mark 50 years of Bangladesh-World Bank partnership in Washington DC. He also attended a roundtable meeting with US business leaders and separate meetings with the new World Bank President Ajay Banga and International Monetary Fund Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva. He also attended a civic reception.

On the third leg of the tour, the Prime Minister traveled from Washington DC to attend the coronation of Charles III and his wife Camilla as King and Queen of the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth states.

In London, Sheikh Hasina exchanged views with King Charles III and held a bilateral meeting with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. British Foreign Secretary James Cleverley and his wife Susanna met Sparks at his residence at the Claridge's Hotel in London.

He met there with King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Queen Jesun Pema of Bhutan.

Besides, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair and Commonwealth Secretary General Baroness Patricia Scotland also met the Prime Minister of Bangladesh.

Then Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina returned to the country on May 9.
